In 2015, I took a vow to take my blog more seriously, and I absolutely plan to deliver.
I laid it out in my new year’s resolution blog post along with ~10 other goals, and though my expectations may be high, I’d really like to meet many of them.
So, how can I stay motivated weeks, or more like months, after January? Here’s my plan:
I’ve created a 3-4 step method to reevaluate my goals and resolutions on Monday mornings. Sure, realistically, I won’t care to do it every Monday of 2016, but if I put a recurring calendar reminder in my phone, maybe I’ll meet 3 to 4 more goals this year than I would have without it.
I call it #MeetMyGoalsMonday, and I think it’s a hell of a lot more actionable than #MotivationalMonday. I hope you’ll try it with me!
4 Steps to Meeting your Goals – #MeetMyGoalsMonday
Step 1: Set recurring calendar #MeetMyGoalsMonday reminder for Monday morning at a convenient time
Step 2: Ask yourself “what is my goal this week?” I would pick one major goal for that week. Feel free to write it down somewhere. Here are some of the goals that I envision having (1 per week):
Work out at least X times
Don’t say “I’m fat” once
Dedicate an hour to my blog
Pick up my camera at least once
Call my best friend/grandma/ dad, etc.
Put my phone away for X hours
Drink X glasses of water per day
Step 3 (Optional): Tell someone else about your goal. Whether it’s your boyfriend, mom, best friend or your dog, say your goal out loud. (This week, I told Chewy that I would go to at least 3 workout classes, no exceptions. He’s holding me to it).
Step 4: Set another reoccurring reminder for Sunday evening. Ask yourself, “did I meet my goal?” Evaluate your strategy and determine whether it worked. Repeat Monday Morning and go kick some ass!
If you give it a try for even one week, let me know how it goes! I’d be happy to help you with #3 and keep you motivated!

Excellent plan. We should all strive to move forward and evolve on a weekly basis.
