There’s no beating around the bush; I absolutely love to eat. As a kid, my favorite subject was lunch, and as an adult, I’ve become notorious for having a snack in my hand at all times during the work day.
With that said, however, I’ve finally learned to be somewhat mindful of my “treat yo self,’ mentality. That’s the mentality where “screw it, I’ve had a hard day,” and the “go for it, you did awesome,” both end with cookies. After a while, you start to realize that there aren’t many days in between.
Though I definitely have slip-ups here and there, 2 years of Weight Watchers and several weeks with my Health Coach, Talia, have been keeping me accountable for how often, and the means by which I reward myself. In the process, I’ve picked up 10 things (below) that I can treat myself to without feeling guilty.
Sure, these things don’t always get the job done, but a lot of times, they do. They give me something to look forward to that isn’t deep-fried or covered in chocolate. And if they really don’t help with the naughty cravings, I can indulge in a healthy treat like many of the ones Talia has on her blog (i.e. Banana Ice Cream or Black Bean Brownies).
Do you have anything else you treat yourself with other than food? Comment below–I’d love to hear about it!

1. New nail polish (or springing for a manicure)
I’m loving this new Essie color I just bought from Walgreens. Like, they used the word “greige” to describe it. #FallGoals.

Just downloaded “Why Not Me?” by Mindy Kaling, and “After You,” by Jojo Meyers. Pretty pumped about both.
3. Fresh Flowers
4. A Bubble Bath
You can thank me later for this little lavender gem from Whole Foods.
5. A 20 Minute Massage at the nearest Whole Foods
If you live in Chicago, David M is an actual wizard. A few minutes (and a few bucks) with him and you’ll be a new person. Tell him Taryn sent you 😉
6. An hour of puppy or baby-related Buzzfeed Videos
7. An Adult Coloring Book or Craft
8. A delicious smelling candle
Mrs. Meyers Basil Scented Soy Candles = the best thing ever. Period.
