When people ask me why I chose ClassPass over my gym membership, here’s what I tell them: ClassPass makes me sweat.
For years, my workout looked a little like this: Comfortable dumbbell reps, half-ass cardio, abs (AKA playing on my phone), stretch and repeat 1-3 days later.
When I tried a month trial with ClassPass, the weirdest thing happened to me. All of my gym clothes were disgusting after class. Like peeled, not pulled off, my body kind of disgusting. Suddenly I felt ashamed about what I had been doing in the gym the last ~9 years. Is this what actual sweating feels like??
Fast forward to several months later, and I’m 84 classes deep. I can’t say I’m now a fitness expert or that I finally have my dream body, but I do believe that ClassPass is helping me reach my potential. Many classes challenge me in a way I would never do on my own, and best of all, I’m actually having fun.
Below are my favorite classes to try in the downtown Chicago-area:
- Flywheel – Gold Coast: Fly 45
- Trainology – River North: Run 45 Lower Body
- Yoga Loft – River North, Power Basics
- Pure Barre – River North: Pure Barre
- Lateral Fitness – River North: Unify
- Reform Chicago – River North: Pilates Reformer
- CorePower – Streeterville: Heated Power Candlelight Yoga
- The Barre Code – River North: Baryasa
